• WAN, a sushi restaurant in Medellín, Colombia, brought not only great food but an interactive experience. You’re greeted at the door with a bowl and a ritual as a welcome into the restaurant. With a range of asian and Colombian-inspired dishes, there is much to choose from. My favorite is the Bao Buns and the Tres leches that is hidden under a layer of white chocolate that you have to break to eat. There is a different ambiance within every room in the restaurant, but they all deliver the same experience.

  • Oysters Menorca, a restaurant that first started in Menorca, Spain, has a new location in Barcelona. This chic new restaurant has oysters of all sorts from all over Europe, like the Netherlands, Ireland, Portugal, and France. If you go for the oyster, they ask for your preferences and guide you through their selection of 7 different types of oysters that range from sweetest to saltiest.  The oysters come with their 3 signature sauce, ranging from spicy, sweet, and an infused option. On top of that, their blini tower with caviar, roe, and salmon is a must-try appetizer to share with your friends. For those who like to play it safe, they have an Amazon truffle pasta as well as many other cooked fish and crab options to choose from.

Please note that there are two locations, one in Barcelona, Spain, and one in Menorca, Spain. The links and menu provided below are specific to the Barcelona location.

  • Djardin, a seafood restaurant, has fresh selections of fish that are brought to the table so you can pick your victim of choice. But with all seriousness, Djardin had the best seafood platter, which ended up being one of my favorites. What took my breath away was the Truffle pasta, where they aren’t stingy with the truffles, a must-try.

Please keep in mind that you’ll need to pay for parking to enter the small private town of Perast to access the restaurant unless you are staying in one of the hotels on the property. Parking ranges from 5-15 euros an hour.

My favorites were the Mussles a la marinera and the Tagliatelle in roasted tomato sauce. The staff and waiters were super friendly and gave great recommendations on what to order from the menu.

  • With a great view of Perast and the towns of Montenegro, Trattoria Rosmarino is a great place to go for sunset pictures and good vibes. With their daily catch menu with fresh fish caught daily, you’ll have the opportunity to try the fish native to the area. As well as their Fluffy Focaccia bread brought in as an appetizer with their signature cream cheese butter. My favorite was the seafood pasta and Burrata salad.

Trattoria Rosmarino has a menu that changes year-round that aligning with their harvest season, so the menu can differ. I visited in the summer and was extremely impressed with the selection.

  • In Mandela Square, there is a restaurant located inside the mall, offering a view of the statue of Nelson Mandela. The Big Mouth is a sushi restaurant in Santon, offering many flavorful options from appetizers to mains. My personal favorite was the Seasoned Edamame grilled with teriyaki spice, a filling appetizer perfect to share with friends.

  • Marble, a restaurant by the Waterfront in Cape Town, South Africa, left me impressed by their service and their food.  The ambiance, as well as the restaurant and bar, make it a picture-perfect moment.  The appetizers are a great size. And their Mains are even bigger.  They have many drink options ranging from alcoholic to non-alcoholic, and are very flexible and can modify your drink for you.
